A new year begins....
I am so pleased to be back to business today! It has been a great break and I feel very refreshed and ready for all that 2009 has to offer.
I had some exciting news today in the form of the "Australian Better Homes and Gardens" February issue being in shops today. I have made a quilt called "Pink Pinwheels" which is on page 22 of this issue (you can see it on their website here). The magazine will be auctioning the quilt for charity on ebay later this month. The quilt has been made with the beautiful "Durham Quilt Collection" Fabrics by Lecien.
The fabrics were kindly donated by Charles Parsons, the batting was donated by Foothills Fabric and Threads and the quilting was donated by the ever so talented Melinda Gibson from "Around the Block" quilting. I think we all pulled together to make such a lovely quilt and I hope it successfully raises money for Pink Ribbon Day which, as you all know, is a charity close to my heart. The pattern is in the magazine and the fabric kits can be purchased from Under The Mulberry Tree. They are kindly donating $10 from every kit sold to Pink Ribbon Day. It was a lovely start to the working year.
Enjoy your creation,
Rosalie xx

Hey Rosie! Hope your Christmas and New Year was wonderful and restful. Might have to go find myself a copy of Better Homes, I think ... though have to confess pink is my least fave colour ... maybe red?! :0) Looking forward to more sneaky peeks, stories and cyber chats!! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Happy New Year! Hope you had a great Christmas with your family. Was pleasantly surprised to see your quilt featured in BH&G! That's awesome!! It was nice to see a familiar crafty face (not that your photo was in there... was it?!?) in the mag! Beautiful quilt for an even greater cause! :)

I am 31 years and was told i had Breast Cancer six months ago, since then i have finished chemo and just had my surgery (2 weeks ago).Today i was told i will need to have 5 weeks of radiotherapy, because my lump was so large they are worried it will come back in my chest.. and i can tell you im scared today... tomorrow i will fight again..tomorrow i have promised myself to look in the mirror... so thank you from me my hubby and my sweet children for making this quilt and for supporting this cause.. god bless
