I had a wonderful day yesterday at one of my favourite stores in Victoria called "Habadash". My good friend Marg and I set off for a much-needed day in the country with our daughters. We love to visit Castlemaine and then Daylesford in a day trip every now and again. Habadash is a vintage buttons, lace and trims store. It is located at 8 Templeton St, Castlemaine. They are open from Thursday to Sunday each week. I thought I would share some of my delicious finds.....
Beautiful old threads in a box and on the spool.
Can a girl ever have too much vintage ric-rac?
Cute little flower buttons to add to the stash.
Some lovely vintage pink ribbon. The red ribbon and the linen ribbon were from a French store and are new, rather than vintage.
Here is some lovely lingerie lace from France. It is still wrapped in tissue paper with a tag attached. This lace is from the 70's, not quite as old but still gorgeous. This lace was a gift to me from Habadash's owner Sonia. She loves to know that her treasures are going to a good home. Those of you who have my book "Gift" will remember the stunning card of antique lace that was also purchased from Sonia.
If you are ever in Castlemaine, this is a very worthwile place to visit! Perfect for all vintage habadashery addicts like myself.
