Well, Leanne and I have been home from our wonderful trip to Nowra for a week now so I thought I better fill you in on all the details! The "Stitching at the waters edge" retreat was as wonderful this year as it was 2 years ago. We had a fabulous time. I don't think there could be a more amazing view than the view of the Shoalhaven river in the N.S.W. sunshine. two and a half days of stitching bliss!. I grew up in Sydney so I am a N.S.W. girl at heart.
The tables were set with gorgeous Magnolia branches adorned with the birds from my book "A stitch in time". Sharon and Sheila made 70 birds and each one was for sale to raise money for breast cancer support. I was so touched as they had made them all from my first fabric range "Grandmother's Flower Garden". I wanted to buy them all but in the end I was only able to buy one as every one wanted one! They raised a lot of money for a charity very close to my heart. Thank you so much for your generosity girls!
I had some fat quarter bundles of "Sweet Broderie" to give away. It was difficult to part with them as I don't have very much yet but I know those who won them were very happy with them! I believe my bolts are on their way from Japan as we speak so I can show you them soon and see if there are a few bundles to share with you in a give away.
Kim will be hosting "Stitching at the Waters Edge again next year with teachers Natalie Ross, Janelle Wind and Annie Downs . Don't miss out on your place! Contact Kim at Jukejema to make sure you get in!
