It is with much excitement that I am able to share with you all the new book from Master Quilter Sarah Fielke! The book is named "Quilting-from little things...". This is a MUST-HAVE for all avid quilters and lovers of fresh, bright and fun fabrics! I was so excited when the mailman brought me an advance copy of the book. It has provided hours of "drool time" for me as I pored through the pages! I adore Sarah's unique ability to combine colours and patterns so that the fabrics sing as part of the whole. The book includes inspiration for fabric combining, as well as many fabulous well-thought-out technique instructions as she shares with the reader twenty delicious projects. The following is my all-time favourite quilt... I can't wait to get stuck into some of these projects myself! I do however have to make a big sacrifice as I award one lucky blog reader with my copy of "Quilting-from little things..." Please leave a comment on my blog for your chance to win my beloved copy! (Don't worry, I will be rushing out to buy another copy for myself very soon!) I will choose one of you by Random Number Generator on Saturday 16th of April. Good luck! The rest of you will have to join me in buying your own copy or keep trying to win a copy on the remainder of the blog tour! Now I am off to make a cup of tea, curl up on the couch with a quilt and drool a little more as I immerse myself in quilting book bliss! Sarah- you've done it again!!!!
Melly and I are so excited to be able to tell you a little more about the new "Melly & me" book which is due to hit stores within the next two months or so.
Sewn Toy tales is a fabulous book full of 12 softie projects that are aimed at both boys and girls and also suit a range of sewing skill levels. These project are just too cute and I am sure you will fall in love with them all. There is also a great range of sewing techniques and tips enclosed that will help you create the perfect softie!
This book is also really exciting as Melly and I have teamed back up as sisters to work on an exciting new project. We have contributed 6 patterns each to the book and have an exciting competition planned for when we receive some copies. We are going to ask you all to guess who designed and made each softy (but more of that later!)
We hope to start showing you some of the projects enclosed over the coming weeks to give you a little taste of what you can expect. You can see the cute as a button "Alexander" caterpillar on the cover - and here is a little look at one of the projects enclosed - "Finnegan" the Frog
"Sewn Toy Tales" is published by the wonderful David & Charles who have been so great to work with. We know that there are plenty of stores that are starting to take pre-orders, so please be on the look out.
