another little peek!

Long time, no post! Where does the time go?? I am still having a ball working on the last few projects for my new book. I have booked in time with the photographers and the graphic artist and still have lots to do (release in early July). Here are some more sneaky peeks:

Melly and Me are heading up to Townsville on Friday morning where I will be teaching at the "Where friends gather" retreat at The Tinkers Cart. We are quite excited as we have never been that far north in Australia! Tracey has one hundred and ten women booked in and it is sure to be a blast. I am teaching with Helen Stubbings and Janet Rowe and am very excited to see these girls again. It really is a special time for the designers/teachers also as many of us work in isolation at a home studio. It is great to share ideas and thoughts on the whole "designer" gig. I cant wait to meet all the gorgeous stitching ladies also and hope they all have a beautiful day on Saturday.

Melly is coming with me for a bit of flossy-free design time. We are heading up a bit early so we can walk around and have a look around Townsville. I will take lots of photos and will share them with you on our return!

Home again, home again!

I am home from a beautiful weekend in lovely Launceston.  Gail, Natalie, Rose and myself thoroughly enjoyed teaching a wonderful group of girls in Summerhill with The Country Quilter.  Sally booked us in to a magnificent Bed and Breakfast called Nirvana (and it sure was).  Here is a photo of the hall set up...

Show and tell was a fabulous time and Katherine showed me her progress on "The Joy of Life" quilt she is making 

Katherine also gave me the most beautiful antique lace that I plan to incorporate somewhere in my book.

Spelling bee drop out.

Thanks for tactfully ignoring the fact that I can't spell!  Don't worry, I have discovered the spelling checker so this shouldn't happen again! LOL!

I have just so enjoyed working solidly on my book so I thought I would give you another sneak peek.  This may have to be the last one as I should keep some things secret.  Just ask my sister Melly (yes, she is sitting right next to me composing this post, shhh don't tell anyone!) I am hopeless at keeping secrets!

We are in the middle of getting quotes for the book printing and it is very exciting.  I will have to share my time carefully as I am also really in to the Scrappy Cabin Challenge at the moment.

I am also really looking forward to teaching at "The Country Quilter" in Launceston, Tasmania this weekend.  I am teaching alongside my good friends Gail Pan and Natalie Lymer.  It's going to be so much fun sharing a plane trip, a hire car and a gorgeous B&B with these girls!  I know I am also going to meet some of you there.  Please make yourself known to me, I love meeting fellow bloggers.

With a Grateful Heart...

I am completely overwhelmed by all of the beautiful comments that you have left. What an amazing welcome to the blogosphere!

As some of you have realised, I am locked in my studio working on projects for my very first book. I am really excited about this but it does mean that I am only able to give sneak peeks...

The anticipated time frame of the book release will be July so please don't start asking at your local shop just yet. I promise I will give you all plenty of notice!

Though I can only show you little pieces of the book, I will be sure to show you lots of other crafty eye candy as you join me on my blogging journey,

Here at last!

"Well", she said..... "Ive finally taken the plunge and created my own blog!" (with more than a little bit of help from Melly!!) I am very excited to be here and am looking forward to sharing more of my creative journey with you all! Firstly, I must tell you all that I am rather a technophobe so this will be a bit challenging. Melly will be holding my hand until I get the hang of things and then hopefully I will manage this little site on my own. I have so enjoyed designing under the "Melly and me" label with my gorgeous little sister. I have still been designing under "Rosalie Quinlan Designs" at the same time and thought RQD should also have a web presence. Designing for both labels has been the best of both worlds for me. I get to design in the soft, pretty cottage style that I love with RQD and a much more fun, funky and out there style with "Melly and me". I think this site will be a bit of a "sister" site with the Melly and me site (how appropriate!). I still have to work on the inspiring blog listing and the on-line shop listing over the next few weeks. Can't wait !!
