I am still making new samples for Houston. I really enjoy all the new looks I am achieving. Here is the "New" Nellie's sewing bag....
Of course I made two - why not? This time I used my fabrics and Matilda's own bag batting which is my new favourite product. It has given so much structure to the bags. Here you can see the inside pockets.
It all ties up by threading the handle through the two loops in the top.
Anyway, I know lots of you have made this cute little sewing bag but it's always been a favourite of mine.
The preparations for Houston continue and it is all becoming quite exciting now. We can't wait to see friends we have made over there. I hope Pam and Di are up to sharing a meal at our favorite teppanyaki restaurant! We are always so happy to visit there and get some fresh vegetables (fairly scarce in Houston!) Six sleeps to go!

I love the bag and the fabric used and I'm sure it will be very popular in Houston. I haven't heard about the new bag batting, I'm hoping my local shop will have it. Goodluck and safe travelling

Hi Rosie
I love the new bag samples, they both look so good in your lovely fabrics and I love the stiffer effect from using the new batting. Any chance of more details of this, especially stockists in the UK?I love this pattern and have previously made 2, one as per your pattern and the other I enlarged by 2 inches all round as I wanted to use some Sashiko samples I had done in the centre panels. It came out really well and is great for carting my current hand sewing projects around in.
Hope you and Melly have loads of fun in Houston.

Hi Rosie
Gorgeous bag! I was pointed to your post by a friend as I'm trying to find some decent stiffener for some bags I'm making. Wondering which of matilda's batting products you used? Could you please give details? Many thanks.

They do look great, makes my very old floppy one look rather sad. Thanks to your darling sister I am going to 'play' with this batting very soon, but Love the feel of it! So now will have to make another of these, and yes its just the handiest little sewing bag around!
Have a ball in Houston... sob sob...still trying to twist Sarah's arm for next year :)) hehe...

Your bags have turned out beautifully.
I am just wondering how you attached the bottom panel to the bag. Your pattern says to blanket stitch it on, but it looks like you have done it differently.
