I have been playing with my wool felt stash and cosmo threads to create this Fairy Garden canvas on linen. My beautiful Oma Hillie in the Netherlands used to make pictures using similar techniques. My Mother has one that My Oma made for her when she was a little girl in the 40's or 50's. I really enjoyed designing this one!LECIEN has some amazing new metallic threads which add just the right sparkle to this project. The threads are very strong. I pulled them through four layers of fabric including a fusible wadding (parlan) and they didn't break or fray. When it came to ironing the work, I was worried that they may melt but I had no melting or shrivelling even on a hot setting. I think I am in love!I am madly working on writing this pattern and several others that I have shown you. Why do I just want to keep making things instead of getting the patterns finished??? I am being naughty like leaving my homework to the last night at school! This little fairy is in a teacup chariot pulled by two obliging snails! And here is a shot of the finished canvas. It measures 20" x 40" when wrapped around the artists canvas.
Enjoy your creation!
